Korea Communications Commission has decided to prepare the scenario for digital conversion this year and end the analog broadcasting in the second half of next year. KCC announced that they would organize a research team for digital TV conversion and build the affordable radio utilizing plan on 2th February. KCC reported that the digital broadcasting construction rate was only 18% compared to analog broadcasting at the end of last year. Therefore, KCC has concluded that they would construct promoting plans of digital TV conversion considering each broadcasting companies and year. Moreover, KCC has determined to find out political support programs such as a financing support, a tax reduction and an improvement of receiving fee systems and commercial broadcasting system. They planned to organize a nationwide campaign to inform people about digital conversion and constitute regional conferences which are related to local radio Management offices and local broadcasting companies. KCC investigates the TV-watching figures of under-privileged group in order to set up a specific support program and an improvement plan of the reception environment as conducting a nationwide research on actual conditions of reception environment collaborated with a broadcasting companies. |
