Title Korean Communications is ready for Green IT global market

According to KCC and related organizations, KCC(Korea Communications Commission) will strengthen activities targeting the green IT global standards market.

KCC leads establishing global guide lines through actively participating green IT related meetings including ITU(International Telecommunication Union) and OECD conferences. At the same time, they constructs an intimate cooperation system with Korean communications industry in order that Korean green IT technology could start "Green transformation" movement in the global market.

In fact, KCC's reports were reflected in the draft of ITU's meeting which was related to green IT standards last year. Korea submitted the third largest reports, following Europe(13) and Japan(9) in this meeting. In addition, TSAG(Telecommunication Standardization Advisory Group- the Telecommunication Standardization Sector of ITU) appointed Sung-Chul Kang from KCC as one of Vice Chairmen. KCC also plans to hold a related conference in Korea.

KCC widely participated in "Green ICT(International Communications Technology)" activities of OECD and will be present at the OECD Conference on how Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) can improve environmental performance and mitigate climate change in all sectors of the economy. Furthermore, they will set up the "Green Communications Promotion Plan" which will be an action plan of green IT in communications and in the way it is carried out, they will develop Korean Green communications standards into the global standards.

KCC said that "Green IT is a general trend which we cannot help but following. Korean green IT in communications is worthy to take the lead. This is the time to have global mind-set." "In Korea, there are a lot of global leading companies, so that if the related industries and organizations manage both developing technologies and making efforts for international standards based on the exchange among them, then leading the global market could comes true.
