On June 9, Korea Communications Commission Chairman Han Sang-hyuk visited the Yongmunsan Transmission Station and checked the broadcasting disaster preparedness for the heavy summer rains of major broadcasters such as KBS, MBC, and SBS, and offered encouragement to the staff. The station is an important braodcasting facility for the area. KCC Chairman Han Sang-hyuk checks broadcasting facility in preparation for summer disasters Transmission facilities that provide UHD TV, digital TV and FM broadcasting to the Gapyeong, Yangpyeong, Yeoju, and Icheon regions are concentrated in the Yongmunsan Transmission Station. The station is critical in providing stable broadcasting to viewers in the eastern part of the Seoul metropolitan area The Chairman checked the safety status of the main and backup transmitters, broadcasting power facilities and external antenna facilities. The systems were also thoroughly inspected for preparedness against disasters like heavy rain, forest fire or fire. During the inspection, Chairman Han asked staff to “thoroughly prepare for any safety accidents that may occur due to heavy rains or typhoons in the summer.” He added, “broadcasters should ensure disaster broadcasting can quickly deliver local disaster information in case of local natural disasters such as torrential rains due to abnormal weather.” Before visiting the Yongmunsan Transmission Station, Chairman Han stopped by the “Creative Competency Improvement Training” which aims to strengthen KCC officials’ competency and creativity. He offered his encouragement and asked the staff to improve their internal communication in order to enhance job competency. |
