Korea Communications Commission (chairman See Joong Choi) and Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI, president Moon Gi Choi) will hold ’Future strategy for broadcasting and communications convergence : challenging for the convergence 2.0 generation’ seminar on January 23rd (Fri) at the International Conference Hall, Press Center. Following the release of IPTV from Korea Communications Commission last year that started the era of broadcasting and communications convergence, this seminar will be held to present the results of ’future strategy system research for broadcasting and communications convergence’ that ETRI was asked to conduct to view the long-term effects of broadcasting and communications convergence on policy, technology, industry and more. The aim of ’future strategy system research for broadcasting and communications convergence’ is to look at how the paradigm of broadcasting and communications convergence will unfold in the long term from technology, service and business perspectives. The research analyzes the strategic environment of future broadcasting and communications convergence and proposes the direction towards a complete intelligent communications network for the growth of broadcasting and communications convergence network while suggesting a broadcasting and communications convergence 2.0 trend and new strategies. At the ’Convergence 2.0 Seminar,’ Tae Geun Hyung of Korea Communications Commission will give a key lecture on the topic of "Promotion and expansion of digital convergence" that looks at the global trend of digital convergence and the role of Korea Communications Commission in leading it. ETRI professor Won Gyu Ha will lecture under the title of "Broadcasting and communications convergence nation, basic constitution 2020" to talk about the direction of convergence 2.0 through co-evolution of technology and media, and Won Yong Cha from Aspect Future Technology Management Research Center will lecture on "Predictions on future broadcasting and communications convergence technology" which looks at the direction of development of broadcasting and communications convergence net. Plus, there will be further lectures by Chungbuk University professor Tae Sung Kim on "Future demands, service and business prospects of broadcasting and communications convergence," which is about technological strategy framework, Hanyang University professor Beom Soo Jeon on "Media ecosystem of global broadcasting and communications convergence" which looks at the media market structure and ETRI professor Seung Joon Yeon on "Future strategy system for broadcasting and communications convergence - GREEN Initiative" that presents on Korea Communications Commission’s strategy system following the environmental changes of broadcasting and communications convergence. In addition, under the direction of ICU professor Myeong Chul Park (president of Korea Technology Innovation Society), the general debate session will be participated by professor Dong Wook Kim from Graduate School of Public Administration at Seoul National University, president Guk Jin Kim of Media For Innovation, Public Administration professor Dong Hwan Kim of Chung Ang University and Public Administration professor Nam Hee Choi of Chung Joo University. |
